A black and white reproduction photograph of F. P. F. and A. M. W. Temple, ca. 1860s. The studio portrait shows Mrs. Temple seated with her arms at her lap. She wears a black dress, possibly silk, with a black collar, probably lace. There is a chain or something similar around her neck, but nothing is seen attached to it. She also appears to be wearing gloves. Mr. Temple is standing to the left of his wife, wearing a dark-colored three-piece suit; white shirt; and light-colored (unless the flash reflects off of it] necktie. There is a background, which is likely a panel that shows a wainscoted wall of some kind. On the reverse in blue ink is: "F P F & / Margarita Workman / Maybe wedding picture / Edith didn't remember." This is not a wedding photograph. Edith was Edith Temple Stanton, granddaughter of the couple. At the bottom in the handwriting of museum curator Carol Crilly in pencil is: "Gift of Loretta Berner [from Rancho Los Cerritos] 4/18/81." It is probable that the ink inscription is in Berner's hand. With little indication of wear or damage, the photo is in good condition.
