Description

Color: Black; white An engraving of F. P. F. Temple, done by E. G. Williams & Bro. for the American Historical Society, ca. 1870. Temple is shown in an upper torso shot, wearing a black suit with vest, white shirt, and black cravat or tie. This image is reproduced in John Steven McGroarty's "From the Mountains to the Sea" history of southern California, published in 1921. Since John H. Temple, son of F. P. F. Temple, provided much information to McGroarty for biographical sketches of F. P. F. Temple and other family members, it is assumed this copy belonged to him. With the lower left corner torn; surface soiling and stains; the paper worn down by scratching or abrasive contact with another item; and discoloration, the object is in fair condition.
