Description

Color: Black and white A black and white reproduction portrait photograph of F. P. F. Temple II, ca. 1888. An infant of perhaps a year or a little order, the child wears a sleeveless white dress, perhaps for christening with embroidered lace edging and collar. He sits on a chair with an open-design back in wood and arms that appear to turn in at the front, also made of wood, and what seems to be a velvet seat. On the original carte-de-visite, the photographer is identified as Charles H. Beal. On the reverse of the original in ink is "F. P. F. Temple II / FRANK PLINY TEMPLE / 1887-1888." The child (1887-1964) was the oldest of the eight children of John H. and Anita D. Temple, who owned the Homestead from 1888-1899. The photograph is in mind condition. Number-Units: 1
