Description

Color: Black; White A stereoscopic photograph titled "Los Angeles from the Hills, Califoraia [sic]," by B. W. Kilburn and published by James M. Davis. The image appears to be from Fort Moore or Bunker Hills looking east or southeast. In the foreground are dwellings and portions of streets, with commercial structures further in the distance. At the bottom right is the identification number "9969" and the title. At the right margin is the copyright date and Kilburn's name. At the left margin is Davis' name and five business locations. On the reverse is the printed inscription "Photographed and Published by / B. W. KILBURN, - Littleton, N. H." There is rubbing on the edges; fairly heavy soiling; some image discoloration; losses to the paper overlay; evidence of silverfish damage; many stains, including a large one at the top center of the left image; tears on the paper; and general wear, so the overall condition is fair. Number-Units: 1
