"Finding of the Jeweled Chalice, Act 3, The Mission Play," ca. 1910s. The brown monochrome postcard shows an illustration of five Native Americans, four of which are kneeling near a robed figure on a wooden bedframe and a woman who is raising a chalice. Trees, the arches of the San Gabriel mission, a large cross, and the silhouettes of mountains are present in the background. In the top right corner, a small box contains a blurb in praise of the play, which is described as being performed near Los Angeles, California. When acquired, this postcard was stored in an envelope titled, "Mission Play Post Cards," along with several other postcards (Object IDs: 2022.3.2.15-17 and 2022.3.2.19-21). The card was produced by The Union Lithograph Company. With minor discoloration, a minor crease, and a minor abrasion, the object is in good condition overall.
