Description

FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH, MONROVIA, CAL., CA. 1915 A colored photographic postcard of the First Baptist Church, Monrovia, California, ca. 1915. The building, constructed of brick with a brick and plaster facade in an eclectic mix of architectural styles, is shown at center on a corner of two streets. A large tower, which includes the entrance, sits at the corner. Another tower peaks just behind this corner tower. There are three sections--the worship area just to the right of the tower and two other sections at far left and right--all with steeply pitched, cross-gabled roofs. Parts of other buildings are at far right and left and there is a car parked at the side of the street at far left. The unused card was published by the Western Publishing & Novelty Company of Los Angeles. Purchased from HM volunteer Bill Stone. In good condition with corner dents and creases and some discoloration. None
