Description

First National Film Co. set, Hollywood, 1915. The image shows five persons, a woman and four men, on a set. A heavy-set man sits in a rocking chair at the center rolling a cigarette. A slender man stands near with his hand on the back of the chair. At left is a man in a suit and bow tie, holding a cane. A Woman dressed in a maid's outfit stands with her hands on her hips. A man in his shirt sleeves and west looks away at the center. There are rugs on the floor, a table at left, a painted backdrop at center left and drapers at right leading into a bedroom set. On the reverse is the ink inscription "C. R. Wallace / Film Cutter / National Film Co / Season 1915 / National Films / Successor to / O T Films." There was a Charles Ray Wallace who worked as a film editor and assistant director through the mid-1920s, so the thin man at the right is likely him. With some tears, heavy creases, edge wear, and soiling, the overall condition is fair.
