Color: Brown
A color polaroid photograph of replicated wood finials for gates around the historic area of the Homestead Museum, 24 July 1977. The five finials, in different sizes and configurations and carved but unpainted, rest on the top of a wood work table in the La Casa Nueva kitchen. Behind them are a group of chisels in storage at the back of the table. Elsewhere on the table top is a screwdriver, what may be a template for the carvings and other materials and supplies. At the bottom of the artifact is an inscription in blue ink reading "Gate Ornaments Carved By / Harvey. As of 7/24/77." With little indication of wear or damage, the object is in good condition.
