FOOTBALL PROGRAM: UNIVERSITY OF SANTA CLARA VS. CALIFORNIA, 28 SEPTEMBER 1929
Color: Black; Blue; Green; Yellow
A football program for a game between the University of Santa Clara and University of California (Berkeley), September 28, 1929. The front cover has the names of the two teams at the top and bottom margins and, between them, is an image of four players, with a referee trailing, readying for kickoff. Contents include information on the two teams; rosters; photographs; ticket information for future Cal games; team schedules for Pacific Coast Conference squads; and information on penalties. There is also a section covering the freshman squad game between the two schools preceding the main game. Of note is the presence of Bud Rowland, from the Puente Valley family, on the Santa Clara team, and Vincent Palomares from Pomona on the freshman squad for Santa Clara. Two tacks are inserted at the left side and there are two pairs of holes where other fasteners were once located. With creases; soiling; yellowing; folds at corners of the pages; losses on the spine, back, and front; pest damage; stains; tears; and overall wear, the condition is poor.Lexicon
