Description

Four women's shoes found under the floor of the northeast wing in the second floor of the Workman House. Found by Kirk Steinke, an electrical contractor, the shoes include a pair and two singles and appear to be "concealed shoes" connected to a ritual believed to be for luck, commemoration, or some other reason by an owner or resident of the space involved. The shoes and their finding are entered into a concealed shoe index at the Northampton Museum in Northampton, England. In as-found condition and given that the shoes were most likely heavily worn and unwearable, the condition is poor.
