Description

Lampshade: 1920s fabric lampshade with fringe at bottom edge. Lampshade is probably made of a silk and rayon damask fabric and has been stretched over a bell-shaped metal frame. At center on both sides there is a painted scene. One side shows trees on a hillside and the other a small house on a hill with trees and flying birds. These painted panels are framed with green silk chiffon and silver passement trim. The same trim is at top, bottom, and sides of lampshade. Lampshade appears to have been a celery green color but is now very dirty. Trim is tarnished. Tears in fabric. Silk chiffon has shattered extensively. Overall physical condition and appearance is poor. Lampshade is part of 96.58.2a-b
