Description

FROM THE EAST SECOND FLOOR PATIO OF LA CASA NUEVA LOOKING SOUTHWEST Color: Black; White A negative of a view from the south end of the east second floor patio of La Casa Nueva looking toward the field and beyond to the southwest, ca. 1927. In the foreground is part of the south end of the Mission Walkway. Beyond are fields and some trees in the southwestern portion of the Homestead. At the right is a line that appears to be a small fire in the field, but printing will reveal if it is that or a flaw in the negative. In the background is a bridge crossing San Jose Creek on Turnbull Canyon Road (then Tenth Avenue), fields in modern Hacienda Heights and the Puente Hills, but the background is very dark. There is a loss at the left center edge and some darkened areas, but these do not affect the image. Regardless of the image quality, the negative is in good condition. Number-Units: 1
