Description
FRONT ELEVATION OF THE WALTER P. TEMPLE MEMORIAL MAUSOLEUM
Color: Black; White
A photograph of the front elevation of the Walter P. Temple Memorial Mausoleum, ca. 1932. The view is from the sidewalk that leads from the building to the entrance of El Campo Santo Cemetery. The portico at the front with steps leading from the sidewalk, its classic fluted columns, the building's name on the architrave, and the sloping cornice with the cross at the apex is flanked by the crypt sections, the fronts of which are covered by tall dark-colored bushes. Some palms also flank the building. In the foreground is the sidewalk with two branches leading on either side of the mausoleum and there are sections of grass on either side of the sidewalk on which the photographer was standing. At the right edge of the reverse is the stamped number "106." The photo has a textured edge and there is a rectangular piece at the top with two holes for mounting into a special paper album, which is item 49.2. In good condition overall, the item has only minor reverse discoloration and paper bowing.
