FRONT OF HACIENDA BUILDING EAST OF GARAGEEntry/Object ID
99.5.29.628Description
Color: Black; White
A black and white photograph of the front of the "Hacienda" outbuilding, ca. 1942. This structure, taken when the site was occupied by El Encanto Sanatorium, is a one-story rectangular shaped structure with a flat roof and covered porch with sloping roof. Round cement columns support the porch roof. A sidewalk leads to the left from the front and the photograher stood directly west, probably along the east side of the former garage. A small shrub and a cactus are at the left and right, respectively, of the front entrance. The "Hacienda," probably the former house of Frank Romero, ranch foreman for the Temples, and his family, stood to the east of the garage and south of Evergreen Lane. On the reverse top is an ink stamp reading "036K." Aside from light surface soiling and very light discoloration, the object is in good condition.
