Description

Color: Black; White A black and white photograph of the front side of La Casa Nueva, as seen from the east, ca. 1941-42. The photographer stood on the lawn at the northeast corner and part of the north elevation of the house is at the far left. Because of a cactus-like plant at far left, the front door is largely obscured, though the music practice room balcony is largely visible as are the music room french door openings. Other bushes and shrubs are next to the house and front patio, including two cypress trees. At center and right is the walkway leading to the home from the north driveway, in the middle of which is the lower part of the trunk of a plam tree. Flanking this walkway are six rose bushes. In the background is more of the lawn, an adobe planter and various bushes and shrubs leading back toward the west lawn. Aside from very light discoloration, the artifact is in good condition.
