Description
FRONTAL VIEW OF PLASTER GNOME FOR LA CASA NUEVA'S WEST LAWN
Color: Brown
A color polaroid photograph of the front of a plaster gnome recreated for the La Casa Nueva West Lawn, ca. 1979. Seen in detail, but mostly in view, the piece is largely in gold and blue, including a shirt or tunic, stockings, boots, and a cup held in the left hand. A bright red mug is held in the right hand at the mouth. The figure was out at the north end of the lawn area when the Temples lived on the site and this was recreated to be put in the lawn. After a short time, however, exposure and the consequent damage necessitated its removal and the figure is now in the Workman House. The background is too dark to discern any details. The artifact is in good condition with little indication of wear or damage.
