Description
FULL SIDE VIEW OF PLASTER GNOME FOR LA CASA NUEVA'S WEST LAWN
Color: Brown
A color polaroid photograph of the side of a plaster gnome recreated for the La Casa Nueva West Lawn, ca. 1979. Seen in full, the piece is largely in gold and blue, including a shirt or tunic, stockings, and boots, except for a a bright red mug held in the right hand at the mouth. It sits on a white-top table with tools and pieces of plaster scattered around. The figure was out at the north end of the lawn area when the Temples lived on the site and this was recreated to be put in the lawn. After a short time, however, exposure and the consequent damage necessitated its removal and the figure is now in the Workman House. Though dark, the background has shelving with tools and supplies on them. The artifact is in good condition with little indication of wear or damage.
