Description

GABRIELA AND THOMAS W. TEMPLE II WITH OTHERS BY STAGECOACH, CA. 1930s Color: Black, green, white A black and white photograph of Gabriela and Thomas W. Temple II with others near a stagecoach, ca. 1930s. Thomas Temple is wearing a charro suit and sombrero and sitting atop the coach with two men in the driver's seat at the far left. Mrs. Temple is standing next to the coach wearing a white dress and mantilla. Next to her is a girl, Vivian Morales, with another girl standing in the open entrance to the coach. The coach has the words "OVERLAND STAGE" on it, but, because the image is blurry, other wording cannot be made out clearly, but might say "COMPANY." Standing next to the coach is Ed Duran. The reverse is a stamped mark reading: "ROBERT L. CARSON / 528 N. Burton Ave. - Alh 5201-W / San Gabriel, Calif." It is assumed the photo was taken for one of the annual Mission San Gabriel fiestas in September. Except for a few small stains and some light discoloration on the reverse, the image is in good condition. The folio is of dark green textured paper has a lighter brown matte with a gray and black border. There are stains on the matte and very light edge wear, so the folio is in good condition also.
