Description

"Gathering orange Redlands Cal.," ca. 1900. Color: Black; White In view is an orange orchard in Redlands California. The three men in view are presumably owners or business partners of the citrus enterprise. A bald man is standing on a wooden ladder as he inspects an orange in one hand while holding his hat with the other. The man in the center of the image has a sack hanging across his abdomen and it appears to have some oranges inside. He holds an orange in his hand and looks ahead of him. There is a derby hat is on the ground in front of him. On the far right is the third man, wearing a fedora hat, suit and poses with a cane. At the foreground is a mound of dirt the stretches across the image, it is possibly an irrigation ditch. With moderate discoloration, scratches at the bottom, and soiling, it is in fair condition overall.
