Description

"GAZETTEER OF THE MOUNTAINS OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA" Color: Black; Green; White "Gazetteer of the Mountains of the State of California," compiled by Edward M. Douglas and published by the Map Information Office, Federal Board of Surveys and Maps, Washington, D. C., 1929. The publication was rebound in a simple paper library binding and has library markings, including a withdrawn stamp on the title page. After an introduction, the work consists of columnar listings, in alphabetical order, of mountain or hill name; county location; quadrangle of the relevant U. S. Geological Survey map; points of latitude and longitude; length of miles when appropriate for a range; and the elevation in feet, including that of the highest individual mountain or hill in a range. There are sixty-two pages, but it seems there is at least one page missing because the list stops at "Williams" and it would appear there would be a few names afterward. With page creases; browning; folds at corners of pages; pest damage on the title page; and some page tears, the overall condition is fair.
