GEORGE H. WOODRUFF TO WALTER P. TEMPLE, 5 NOVEMBER 1925
Color: Black; White
A letter from George H. Woodruff to Walter P. Temple, 5 November 1925. Woodruff, Temple's attorney, wrote to apprise his client of the situation involving a lawsuit filed against Temple, as administrator of the estate of his deceased wife, Laura G. Temple, concerning on-payment of household linens purchased by Mrs. Temple from Sarah Birdsall in 1922 (see item .1 for an inventory of these items.) The letter is on the letterhead of the law firm of Woodruff & Shoemaker, giving the address, telephone number, and list of principals of the company. Woodruff advises that Temple allow him to negotiate an out-of-court settlement, but states that he will pursue the matter at trial if Temple wished. The outcome of this is not yet known. On the back, in Walter Temple's handwriting, is the pencilled inscription "Attention Milt," referring to Temple's business manager, Milton Kauffman. With several horizontal folds, indicating different folding patterns, creases, a few instances of foxing, small stains near the top center, and dented corners, the overall condition is fair.Lexicon
