A piece of glass believed to be from a viewing plate of a casket, ca. 1870. The fragment is clear glass and has traces of an adhesive on one side and a few traces of some reddish residue from, perhaps, metal or wood on the other. The glass was found in the digging of the crypt for Nellie D. Temple, April 1998 in the fenced burial plot in El Campo Santo cemetery. One of four pieces that fit together (see .2-.4 for the other pieces.) The glass, in addition to being broken, has scratches and other surface marks and is in poor condition.
