A piece of glass believed to be from a viewing plate of a casket, ca. 1870. The fragment is clear glass and has some reddish residue on one side, perhaps from metal or wood. There are also several areas where portions of the glass was damaged from cracking and breaking, as well as much surface marking. The glass was found in the digging of the crypt for Nellie D. Temple, April 1998 in the fenced burial plot in El Campo Santo cemetery. The glass, in addition to being broken, has scratches and other surface marks and is in poor condition.
