Color: Black; White
A black and white photograph of the Glorieta from the southeast, 1 August 1978. Featured in the center of the image, the structure rests on an octagon-shape raised concrete base with stairs on the right. Eight columns are on top connected by an ornate baluster on the bottom with geometrical designs; above, the columns are connected by arches decorated with vine motifs. The rotunda roof above is lined with five-point stars along the sides; hollow circles along the bottom edge; and lyres surrounded with rising vine designs on the top center on each of the eight sides. An eight-sided turret caps the roof in the center with oblong shapes in the middle of each face; lined by a baluster with five-point star designs on the bottom; bell roof lined by hollow circles; and three balls in decreasing size on top sustaining a steel rod. Across the background are many trees partially hiding the arched Mission Walkway entrance located on the left. In the foreground is a grassy knoll shaded by trees located on the left and right (see 99.5.1.27). On the back bottom right corner is a label crediting Duane C. Alan as the photographer and providing his business information. With no signs of wear, the image is in good condition.
