Badger, 1922), 359 pp. The red hardcover book has an embossed design of a male figure within a square on the center of the front. The title, author's name, and publisher are on the spine in gold. At the beginning of the inside are a title page, preface, table of contents, and list of illustrations. There are 33 chapters that cover the author's memories of California beginning with his voyage to the state in 1849 up to the 1880s. Mentioned in the book are Jonathan Temple, F. P. F. Temple, the Temple and Workman bank, William H. Workman, and much more. Many black and white illustrations and and photographs are included. With light abrasions; small dents on the back; some soiling on the cover; fading of the gold lettering on the spine; and small tears on the cover fabric, the artifact is in good overall condition.
