Description

a)Lamp stand: Gold metal floor lamp stand with velour tassels. Lamp stand has a tripod base constructed by attaching 1" wide metal bars, shaped into scrolls, onto a trefoil-design base plate made from the same material. The shaft is a turned metal pole with two light sockets at the top. Each light socket has a metal chain with a velour tassel attached (probably not original). Bottom of the pole has been wrapped with twisted red leather strips where the pole meets the base. Base and pole have been painted gold and are decorated with metal tulip flowers, leaves, and blue and red accents. b)Finial: Shaped like at flame. Finial screws onto a threaded bolt at the top of the lamp stand. Lamp stand has a matching shade (97.5.2). The lamp stand came with a modern white plastic cord. The current five-foot brown fabric wrapped cord was attached at the time of the Homestead's acquisition of the floor lamp. Gold paint is tarnished but overall appearance is good.
