Description

Color: Black; White A black and white real photo postcard of a two-story building at Governor Dummer Academy, ca. 1920s. The light-colored cottage-like structure has a portico, that has four columns, over its main entance. Many multi-paneled double-hung windows are along the first and second floors. What appears to be either a chimney or a small tower can be seen on the hipped roof through the leaves of the trees that surround the area pictured. The area around the site is grassy, and in the background are several small trees and bushes. An area for correspondence and name and address are on the back, with a marked area for postage at the top right corner. Edgar and Walter P. Temple, Jr. attended the school from 1926 to 1929. With light abrasions at the corners; a crease on the right side; light surface soiling; some discoloration of the paper; some fading of the image; and pencil marks on the back, the artifact is in good condition overall.
