Description

A Valentine's Day greeting card, ca. 1900s. The embossed, heart shaped, colored card features a floral pattern surrounding its edges. The middle of the card shows a side profile of a young blonde child, wearing a pink dress, and holding a small bouquet of lillies. There is a dedication on the reverse side, "From Alice and Fanny." The printed dedication reads, "Voice of Love/And since that day it has come true/I've wanted you for mine,-/A song to brighten all my days/Oh be m, Valentine./" The letter "B" appears at the very bottom portion. Unlike the card (2004.465.1.2) of the accession, the card does not have a printed dedication to the front. The card has creases toward the left side, light surface soiling. It is in good condition overall.
