Two pages from "Frank Leslie's Illustrated Newspaper," 21 August 1858 containing an illustration, "Grizzly Bear Hunting in Southern California." The print shows four Latino men on horses lassoing a bear that is sitting on the ground. Part of the article which the image illustrates is on page 179 and on a section of page 180 on the reverse. With some edge tears, a few spots of foxing and heavy creasing, the condition is fair.
