Description

GROUP OF 14 REPLICATED WOOD PANELS FOR LA CASA NUEVA DOORS Color: Brown A color polaroid photograph of 14 replicated wood carvings for La Casa Nueva doors, ca. February 1979. The panels, about all identical sized square panels, are stacked against the white tiled eastern wall of the home's kitchen. The three on top are of the Temple family coat-of-arms with floral or vine designs surrounding it. The next row of three are of a cattle head with a vase-like design below it and S-scrolls and other elements. The third row of carvings is of the Mexican eagle and a shield with a banner at the bottom. The five panels of the fourth and fifth rows are floral designs. Looking at the panels as in three vertical columns, the objects in the middle are all painted the final coat of dark brown, while the outer column items are not painted. To the far left is a very small portion of the work table used to make the carvings and a small piece of a photograph of an original carving, used in the replication process, is above the table. In good condition, the object shows little indication of wear or damage. Number-Units: 1
