GROUP OF FOUR PERSONS ON THE BEACH AT ENSENADA (MEXICO)
Color: Black; White
A black and white photograph of a group of four persons on a beach at Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico, ca. 1929. The group is seated with a woman in a sleeveless dress and dark, wide-brimmed hat, and dark-colored shoes at the far left. Next to her is a woman who wears a light-colored dress with a dark-colored sweater. Third from left is a man wearing a light-colored button-down shirt and light-colored trousers. At the far right is a woman wearing a patterned sleeveless sweater or blouse, light-colored trousers and a light-colored hat. Around the group are items of clothing, a hat, shoes, a basket, some food and bottles of drink and other items. The three women are in item 64.1, with the one on the right wearing a bathing suit. A similar view, with Thomas W. Temple II seated at left in place of the woman here, is 64.2. Behind the group the beach continues away from the water and, in the far background, is a large building, which was a hotel, in which Walter Temple was an investor. There is some significant water damage on the top edge, bleeding at the left toward the center and extending down the right edge, of the image, hence it is in fair condition.
