Description

GUESTS WALKING TOWARD SOUTH SIDE OF EL CAMPO SANTO, MAUSOLEUM DEDICATION CEREMONY Color: Black; White A photograph of guests walking toward the south end of El Campo Santo Cemetery during the dedication and blessing of the Walter P. Temple Memorial Mausoleum, 24 April 1921. The view is from the southwestern corner looking toward the mausoleum. The group is on the grass in the foreground and a sidewalk leading around to the south side. Among them are Walter and Laura Temple, ninth and tenth from left, either Edgar or Walter, Jr. just ahead of them and John H. Temple, who is fifth from right. At the background right is part of the cast-iron fenced plot and a portion of the John Rowland tombstone. In the foreground is a grass lawn and a planter bed with small trees, bushes, and shrubs. On the reverse is a faint stamp from The Photo Shop at 108 West Main Street in Alhambra, where the Temples then resided and, at the bottom right corner, the number "34." With surface soiling, dented corners, and creases, the overall condition is fair. Number-Units: 1
