Description
HANDPAINTED CARD ELENA T. DE CELIS, 3 FEBRUARY 1884
Color: Black; Blue; Brown; Yellow
A probable calling card from Elena T. de Celis, 3 February 1884. The light brown card has a painted bird on a tree branch with real feathers as an applique. Under this at the bottom is the handwritten ink inscription "Mis[S] Elena / T. de Celis / Feburay [sic] 3d. 1884." It is not known if the recipient was Walter Temple or Laura Gonzalez Temple, which are the likeliest possibilities. With surface soiling, some stains, and dented corners, the overall condition is good.
