"HARPER'S NEW MONTHLY MAGAZINE," BOUND VOLUME, DECEMBER 1890 TO MAY 1891. The bound volume was published by Harper & Brothers, New York in 1891. The 957-page volume contains a notable article by Charles Dudley Warner entitled "The Outlook In Southern California." In this article Warner describes California's growing potential in the fruit business. Also he describes the availability of arable land and how most of it is owned by grants and tracts. Warner goes on to describe the favorable and negative aspects of agriculture in California for potential farmers. Included in the magazine are travelogues, poetry, fiction, biographies, and other material on American and foreign subjects. It is in fair condition.
