"Harper's Weekly," 31 December 1864 (Vol. VIII, No. 418), Harper and Brothers, New York. The item contains much general news, current affairs, fiction and poetry and other regular features. Of note is the cover print titled "Christmas Morning", showing parents looking in on their children playing with toys, and a two-page print called "The Union Christmas Dinner" showing wartime scenes in the holiday context. There is much material and illustrations on the Civil War. With separation of pages from being disbound, soiling, foxing, edge rubbing, and brittleness, the condition is poor overall.Lexicon
