HARVARD ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION MEMBERSHIP TICKET BOOK, 1927-28

A ticket book of athletic events at Harvard University, 1927-28. The book, which belonged to Thomas W. Temple II, was issued by the Harvard Athletic Association, the name of which is at the top of the front cover. The year is stamped in large red numbers, under which is Temple's signature, in blue ink, and information about user entitlements. At the bottom left is the booklet number and price, while the athletic director's signature is at the bottom right. On the back is information about restrictions concerning which events were not applicable, namely the football games with Pennsylvania, Dartmouth, and Yale. On the inside front cover is space for the member's name, department (Law II in this case), class year, and address, all of which were filled in by Temple's hand in blue ink. The inside back cover has privileges and conditions. Each page of the book has three tickets, numbered consecutively from 1-60. Only the first five tickets are missing from the book. Each has the abbreviated name of the association, the season, the coupon number, the book number, and the phrasing that the ticket must be presented with the book to be valid. At the back is a coupon for $2 off the admission to the Pennsylvania football game. With cover surface soiling, stains on the back and lower front, dented corners, creases, and creases on some tickets, the overall condition is good.Lexicon
