Description

HARVEY MORRIS CARVING WOOD PANEL FOR LA CASA NUEVA Color: Brown A color polaroid photograph of Harvey Morris executing wood carvings for La Casa Nueva doors, 6 February 1979. Morris is at right applying a chisel to a square panel. To his left is a box of chisels while other tools and supplies are on a work table. At the back of the table, to the left, are two completed rectangular panels, unpainted, with a vase at the center and floral or vine elements surrounding it. These recline against a white tiled wall. To their right are black and white photographs, from which Morris carved the replicated items. Above the two finished panels in green ink are the numbers "13" and "14" and the number "15" in black ink with arrows pointing to the panels. At the upper left of the reverse is a pencil inscription in the hand of a former museum curator reading "Source: Bill Kalnowski." With little indication of wear or damage, the artifact is in good condition. Number-Units: 1
