Description

Color: White; Red; Blue; Yellow; Gold A gravy boat of Limoges china by Haviland, ca. 1893-1930. The item, which is in a Paisley pattern, consists of a bowl attached to a saucer. The bowl has a gold-band edge and handles and a floral pattern on the inside edge with eight floral groupings joined by a floral chain and vines with flowers. The saucer also features a gold edge band and floral pattern on the edge, but with ten groupings of flowers, with the chain and vines. On both bowl and saucer, colors used are navy blue, blue-green, yellow, and red. On the bottom are the maker's marks with "Haviland/France" in green and "DECORATED BY/Haviland & Co./Limoges" in red. This item, though lacking the ridging of the other, replaces item 96.36.1.1, which was broken about 2001 or 2002, while being removed from exhibit. Other than some abrasions on the edges, the item is in good condition.
