Description

Color: Black; White A black and white negative of a team of workers bailing hay on the Rancho La Puente, ca. 1900. Five men are at work, one of whom leans, at left, on what appears to be a scale near baled hay, while another man is behind him on horseback. Three men are on bales of hay holding pitchforks, while behind them is some kind of device that appears to be for loading the hay. In front of this and to the right is a team of horses harnessed to a vehicle. At right is a horse eating hay. In the background are some trees, bushes and, at left, a power pole, but details are hard to make out. The negative is in good condition. Number-Units: 1
