Description

HEART-SHAPED PLANTER AND EL CAMPO SANTO CEMETERY Color: Black; White A black and white photograph of the heart-shaped planter and cemetery, 1977. The planter is in the center with one palm in the middle. A cement and brick walkway surrounds the planter and several electrical wires for light posts are protruding from the concrete at different points in the walkway. In the foreground is a portion of the Pio Pico Memorial Walkway leading up to the planter with a concrete base on the left supporting a three-bulb lamp-post. Trees in wood containers are in the left background, and in the center is El Campo Santo cemetery. A brick wall surrounds the cemetery with the opening being in the center behind the palm tree. Through the entrance can be seen the sloping cornice, columns, and grille of the neo-Classical mausoleum. Many trees and bushes are behind the cemetery wall. To the far right is a lamp-post; bulldozer; east parking-lot; and a section of the Hacienda Boulevard bridge over San Jose Creek. On the back bottom right is a label crediting Duane C. Alan with the photography and providing his business information. There are two indentical images, with the same number, and in good condition. Number-Units: 1
