Description

HENRY W. GROSS TO LAURA G. TEMPLE, 1 APRIL 1921 Color: Black; White A letter (a) and envelope (b) from Henry W. Gross to Laura Gonzalez Temple, 1 April 1921. The missive is on the stationery of All Souls' Church, the name and address of which is at the top center of the letter and the telephone number of which is below and to the left of the other information. Gross, the church rector, wrote to inform Mrs. Temple that Bishop John J. Cantwell was available to bless the newly completed Walter P. Temple Memorial Mausoleum on the 24th of that month and outlined a schedule for that day. The back of the sheet is blank. The envelope is plain with a preprinted two-cent stamp. There is a postmark from Pasadena, also dated 1 April 1921. In ink is the address to Mrs. Temple at the family's Alhambra address. Written in pencil at the left is the word "Important." With a staple mark at the upper left, several creases, and some page discoloration on the letter and some browning, the opening tear at the right, a staple mark at the upper left, and creases on the envelope, the overall condition is good.
