"Herbert Hoover: A Reminiscent Biography," by Will Irwin (2nd special ed., New York: The Century Company,) June 1928. A hardcover book on the 1928 Republican presidential candidate and Secretary of Commerce under Calvin Coolidge. The book is a basic, straightforward narrative of Hoover, beginning with his family's colonial origins in America through his tenure as Secretary of Commerce. The work is not impartial and lauds Hoover for his service as the head of the Commerce Department. There are eight photograph illustrations in the 314-page work, the dustjacket of which is item 1.2. The book is in good condition, with little indications of wear, other than a dented cover corner; light abrasions and rubbing on the cover edges; light soiling on page edges; and some minor foxing on the right edge of pages.
