Description
A real photo postcard of Hollenbeck Home in Boyle Heights, California, ca. 1920s. The large, multi-storied building was created to serve as a home for the elderly in honor of the memory of John E. Hollenbeck by his wife Elizabeth during the 1890s. Hollenbeck was an early resident of the city, businessman and land owner. The facility is surrounded by trees and other shrubery but still the numerous chimneys, spires and front portion of it is visible. The street that the home is located on is lined with trees and electric poles. With abrasion on all edges, mirroring, and foxing and discoloration, the object is in good condition overall.
