HOLLYWOOD STARS BASEBALL CARD, JOHN FREDERICK, 1928
Color: Black; White
A baseball card of Pacific Coast League player John Frederick of the Hollywood Stars, 1928. The image shows the player facing the camera on a baseball field in uniform posed just after swinging the bat, so that his torso is twisted and the bat is over his right shoulder and he is leaning on his right le g. In the background is a baseball field, another player behind Frederick, and some of the stadium stands. At the bottom left is the inscription "27/ ZEE-NUT / SERIES / FREDERICK / LOS ANGELES." On the upper left of the back, in ink, is the inscription "RF [probably signifying "Right Fielder"] JOHN / FREDERICK." Zeenut, a food producer, distributed the cards. With a great deal of soiling, abraded edges with losses at the upper right corner, dented corners, and creases, the artifact is in fair condition.Lexicon
