"Home Furnishing Styles," a magazine issued by The Home Furnishing Styles Association of America, April 1923. The front cover has the title in white letters in a brown background at the top. In the center, within a border consisting of columns and a cornice, is an image of an Egyptian image of a Pharoah on a throne being fanned by a servant. Just below this is the issue date and price of one dollar per copy. Toward the bottom is the publisher's name and place of business. At the bottom, in white letters on a brown background, is "The National Magazine Dedicated to the / ART OF HOME BEAUTIFYING." At the first page, pasted at the top left corner, is a sheet indicating that the copy of the magazine was sponsored by Edward Hingher Company, an authorized exhibitor of the publisher. A list of furniture with award names, classifications and national prices is at the bottom. On the page is a statement by the publishing company secretary about the publication and April spring cleaning, while, within a single brown line border, is a list of contents. Articles concern furniture history, pieces devoted to types of rooms, and articles on furniture and decoration, for example. A question and answer session, a listing of furniture-related books, and an advertisement about what the publisher offered for readers are other features. There are many black and white photographs and drawings accompanying the articles. Although some pages are discolored and there is wear and slight damage to the edges of the cover, the document is in fair condition.Lexicon
