"Home Furnishing Styles," a magazine issued by The Home Furnishing Styles Association of America, February 1923. The front cover has the title in white letters in a brown background at the top. In the center, within a border consisting of columns and a cornice, is an image of a woman seated by a window and doing needlepoint. Just below this is the issue date and price of one dollar per copy. Toward the bottom is the publisher's name and place of business. At the bottom, in white letters on a brown background, is "The National Magazine Dedicated to the / ART OF HOME BEAUTIFYING." At the first page, pasted at the top left corner, is a sheet indicating that the copy of the magazine was sponsored by Edward Hingher Company, an authorized exhibitor of the publisher. A list of furniture with award names, classifications and national prices is at the bottom. On the page is a statement regarding the inaugural January issue and, at the bottom, within a single brown line border, is a list of contents. Articles concern furniture history, pieces devoted to types of rooms, and articles on furniture and decoration, for example. A question and answer session and a list of furniture-related books are at the back. There are many black and white photographs and drawings accompanying the articles. Most of the pages are separated from each other except at the top portions, while the first and last pages are completely loose. The fragility of these pages, one of which has a tear, along with minor wear on the cover, leaves the document in fair condition.Lexicon
