Description

HOMESTEAD FROM FIELD TO THE SOUTHWEST, CA. 1926 Color: Black; White A negative of the Homestead viewed from the field to the southwest, ca. 1926. At left is the upper section of La Casa Nueva, including the main roof and second floor wing patios. At the center is the roof of the Workman House. At right, closer to the foreground, is the laundry building, with its flat roof, and the auditorium and dining hall. Above the auditorium roof is the top of the Water Tower. Also of notice is a tall pole, presumably for radio reception, just behind the dining hall. In the field are some trees, but also much open area. This image is a slightly closer-in view than that of item 50.17 of this accession. Aside from some damage at the left edge, which slightly affects the image and some drakening at the right edge, which does not affect the view, there is little wear or damage and the overall condition is good. Number-Units: 1
