HOMESTEAD VIEWED FROM THE FIELD TO THE WEST, CA. 1928
Color: Black; White
A negative of the Homestead viewed from the field to the west, ca. 1928. Taken from a distance, the view shows the second floor and above of La Casa Nueva, the top of the Tepee, and the second floor and above of the Water Tower. A small portion of the auditorium roof is notable behind an electrical pole, right of center. At the right, hidden behind evergreen trees along the lane of the same name, is only a very small section of a small one-story building that is further away from the other structures near the homes. Three palms around La Casa Nueva, the west side of the Mission Walkway and some trees in the field are also of interest. There are also tractor tire tracks in the field and a row of new trees at the right. The image is a variant, in its view, from item 50.20 of this accession. Aside from some darkening on the edges, not affecting the image, the artifact is in good condition.
