HORSE-DRAWN GRADING TEAMS, EL MONTEEntry/Object ID
2005.477.1.1Description
PHOTOGRAPH, HORSE-DRAWN GRADING TEAMS, EL MONTE, 1911. The view shows what seems to be four separate teams, with several men posed next to them, grading what could be an access road on a ranch, probably the Cleminson. Aside from the flattened dirt area, there are some trees, looking like some fruit or nut trees in the background. On the reverse is the pencil inscription "Uncle Bill's / Horses," meaning, it seems, William Cleminson. See item .2 for a related image. With little indication of wear or damage, except some residue at the upper right, the condition is good.Lexicon
