Description
HORSE-DRAWN VEHICLE NEXT TO CHURCH, MISSION SAN GABRIEL
Color: Black; White
A photograph of a horse-drawn vehicle stopped next to the south side of the old church at the Mission San Gabriel, 1900. The view is from Mission Road and shows a portion of the stone church's south wall, including an entrance. Between the church and the road are some trees, including a small palm, a wooden barrier, a power pole in the distance at the right, and a woman in a black dress next to a power pole at the left. In the road is a team of horses pulling what appears to be a buggy, with several people in the vehicle. Another horse-drawn buggy faces the opposite direction at the far right. At the center of the back is the penciled number "25" with the number "9" at the upper right corner. With minor corner rubbing; residue on the back, possibly from a scrapbook on the reverse; surface soiling; yellowing; and warping, the overall condition is good.
